During World War Two my Father and his brother enlisted in Toronto and headed overseas. Buster served in Italy until Armistice Day. From early childhood I could... see, the War ate a hole inside him as I'm sure it did for most men; Boys, really, when they signed up. I could also see it haunted him throughout his days. This song is written to honour him and sung from his perspective. See more
Smokies were up next with some originals <3
A few of the Charbonneau clan at the end of Alex's set <3
Local favourite, Richie Overton, closed out the day just as the weather started kicking up again- what a great day on the waterfront!
5th up were festival favourites, The Unscene- <3
4th on the roster were Maja and Rusty, with some cabaret <3
Third in the lineup, the incomparable Alex Charbonneau! Home-grown talent <3
Second in the lineup- Dead Waits!
The Wawa Music Festival was so happy to have been invited to take part in the Goose Nest Fall Market last Saturday! - we have all missed playing for real live people, and thankfully, the weather cooperated! Special thanks to Isabeau Allard for her tireless efforts organizing this event and to all of the WMF committee- special thanks to Ed Janzen as well, for filming each performance- It was a lovely mini reunion for all of us! We will post a sample of each performers set in the days to come, beginning with Damian Binda who was first and warmed up the stage on Broadway with originals and a cover <3
The Wawa Music Fest is so looking forward to seeing and playing for real live people for the first time in many long months! Saturday, September 26- rain date of Sunday 11 am to 4pm! A huge thank you to the EDC and especially to Isabeau Allard for asking us to join the Goose Nest Fall Market, and for her careful and thorough consultation with Algoma Public Health in order to ensure that everyone has a safe and happy experience- Now if we could only control the weather! Look for our Music Fest Volkswagen Photo Booth on Broadway! Hope to see you there
We will need collaboration from residents to make this event safe 1. Do not attend the event if you are feeling sick 2. When you arrive, sign up at the entrance... table (see plan attached), someone will hand you a button that you will give back when leaving at the Exit table 3. Follow direction arrows when going around the market 4. Wear a mask when entering the Goose Nest Stalls 5. Use the hand sanitizer at vendors table before handeling items 6. Stay behind the marked area around the Music Stage We have divided the event in 5 time slots, if you are planning on attending the event please select the time you will most likely to be there. https://www.facebook.com/events/976693352837549/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22search_results%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22search%22%7D]%7D We are asking everyone to limit their stay to 1 hour to allow more people to attend. REMEMBER TO LEAVE YOUR BUTTON AT THE EXIT OR WE WON'T BE ABLT TO KEEP TRACK OF WHO IS LEAVING. Thank you for helping us in making this a fun and safe event for our community!
We will see you both soon!
Junk and Juice head into the land of the Great Manitou for some sun and fun. The fun part is a live show with the duo at Maja’s Cafe in Mindamoya on Wednesday, ...Aug 19th. New songs from their upcoming CD will feature boldly. As most of the shows, this one has a hand full of originals, comedy bits and a touch of pathos. Then it’s onto Sault Ste Marie for a visit with friends and a last dipping of toes in the chilly waters of Superior. Then back to Niagara, for the harvest season. Who says life’s not a bowl of cherries, our motto is to savour it come what may. See more
