There are all sorts of children, quiet, introverted, loud, quiet, movers, dreamers... The idea is not that one choice or preference is better than another,... but just that our society needs to provide better choices to children at all. What would a child choose? We cant answer that truthfully until our children are provided not only with an option to choose but also exposed to a culture that provides exposure and equal access and support to both choices. Often our society and systems tell us that our children prefer something, but the reality is that there were simply no equally nourishing options presented. That is especially true with nature immersion. Freedom is not about equal access to a single option, it is about support for a myriad of preferences, choices and paths. Just like so many adults, upon growing up and finding our own way, realized we desired all along - access to choices that were as unique, varied and rich as we are. So going back, what would you choose, if given the chance? See more

We ask our moms to be to double up on their water intake the entire week before an ultrasound. Many times, moms think this means a full bladder; it does not. To obtain a 3D/4D ultrasound, our waves need to travel through the fluid. More fluid in front of babys face means better quality of pictures. If a baby is right up against the placenta or the side of the uterus, the waves have to travel through these too and back from the face, causing a cloudy look.... It usually takes 2-4 days for fluid to reach the uterus from drinking, which is why we ask that you increase the water intake the ENTIRE week before. Last-minute water binging doesnt help. Please note, that just because a magic pocket of fluid is not in front of babys face, it DOES NOT mean the actual fluid is low. Many times, your tiny human is in such a way that the fluid is not in front of his/her face. So doubling your water helps to give the greatest chance at having the magic fluid pocket in front of the face. It is always a good idea to stay hydrated while growing your tiny human regardless if you are having an ultrasound or not.
This is what people are buying their children without knowing! Language is harsh but mom is very upset. (as she should be)

Common Concerns About The Pregnant Belly Small belly: If you have a small belly and your doctor or midwife tells you it is normal, then you do not have to worry about it. Some mamas are just tiny and that's ok. One of the concerning reasons for a small belly could be oligohydramnios or low amniotic fluid. The condition may be diagnosed through an ultrasound and the doctor could suggest a treatment based on factors such as its extent and your medical history.... Large belly: If your belly is growing quickly, you may visit your doctor for a check-up. Usually, it could be normal due to your previous pregnancy or other factors. One of the concerning reasons for an unusually large belly could be oligohydramnios or a high amount of amniotic fluid, which would be diagnosed by your doctor and handled appropriately. High belly: If you are carrying high, it usually means you have a good muscle tone and strong abdominal muscles. Also, it could be because youre tall, and in most cases, a high pregnancy belly is considered normal unless diagnosed otherwise by your doctor or midwife. However, make sure your doctor or midwife monitors the size of the belly regularly. Low belly: With a low belly, it might seem like the baby is ready to come out any minute, but that is not normally the case. Carrying a low belly could cause discomfort, pressure on the lower back, and pelvic pain, but is not a reason for concern. There are many exercises and stretches to help alleviate low back pain. Perhaps consider a chiropractor and massage. Wide belly: Carrying wide usually means that the baby is in a side-to-side position, a situation termed as a transverse lie. It could be a problem if the baby does not turn with its head down at the time of labor. However, sometimes, an overweight pregnant woman may carry wide, which is not a reason for concern. Your pregnancy belly lasts only as long as your pregnancy does. So, celebrate it with special pictures of your beautiful body! #4dultraoundvancouver 4dultrasoundburnaby #4dultrasoundwhiterock #4dultrasoundcoquitlam #4dultrasoundnewestminster #bellysize #babybump #mamatobe #instamom #preppingforbaby #gender

It's hard for a toddler to fully comprehend that you are actually growing a tiny human in your body. It's generally a good idea to wait until you have a wee baby bump. Tell them how important they are and how exciting it is to be a big sister or a big brother. Including them in your 3D/4D ultrasound is a great way to bond and visually understand better what is really going on in there. We all know their attention span will be about 5 minutes but at least they can see the tiny... baby and be a part of the experience. #bondingwithbaby #sibling #loveatfirstsight #pregnant #babyonboard #yvrparents #preppingforbaby #bunintheoven #nursery #homebirth #doula #genderreveal #gender #boyorgirl #beautifulbabybump #3d/4dultrasoundvancouver #3d/4dultrasoundburnaby #3d/4dultrasoundsurrey #3d/4dultrasoundwhiterock #3d/4dultrasoundcoquitlam

With 3D ultrasound / 4D ultrasound scanning, you'll see your baby in a way you never dreamed possible. From outstretched hands, a yawn, even sucking a thumb or playing his/her feet you can now see what your baby looks like and what your baby is doing in the womb before earthside. We are dedicated to capturing a moment that you can remember forever. Wee Peek Prenatal Imaging offers elective 3D Ultrasound and 4D Ultrasound scans. A 3D Ultrasound & 4D Ultrasound scan can provide a positive bonding experience between the mother, partner, and their tiny miracle. We find that something special happens to parents when the 3D images & 4D images are seen compared to the 2D images because the picture of the baby is so much more realistic. Our 3D & 4D baby scans are primarily intended to enhance parental bonding. Over the past few years, there have been reports in various medical journals that 3D & 4D baby scans have both psychological and other health benefits.
Your body AND baby know what to do.
The Sound of Mother's Voice in Womb May Aid Fetal Brain Growth Babies may get a brain boost in the womb when they hear the voices and heartbeats of their mothers, a new study suggests.... Researchers studying premature babies in the hospital found that the sound centers in the babies' brains grew more quickly when they heard recordings of their mothers rather than the normal clamour of intensive care units. The recordings were manipulated to simulate sounds heard in a womb. The study shows preemies who heard recordings from mom showed a larger auditory cortex Babies begin to hear at 25 weeks' gestation. Previous research has shown that fetuses respond to the sound of the mother's voice. There's very strong evidence that at birth, full-term babies show a strong preference for the language they heard in utero and the voice of their mother over other women. For this the latest study, the researchers chose a group of premature babies who were born at 25 to 32 weeks. Nineteen were randomly assigned to hear the normal noises of the hospital, while 21 heard recordings of the voices and heartbeats of their mothers. The second group listened to the recordings for three hours a day. After a month, the study authors used ultrasound scans to measure parts of the brains of the babies. Those infants who heard the recordings had larger sound centers -- the auditory cortex -- in their brains. The findings do not prove that the brains of these babies are necessarily better, and researchers cannot conclude that they will end up with no developmental disabilities. They don't know the advantages of having a bigger auditory cortex. It's also not clear if mothers' voices are crucial inside the womb or if the voices of other people might also make a difference. Still, the research suggests that parents of premature babies need to talk to them during visits in the hospital. "Hold your baby, talk to your baby, sing to your baby," Researchers did caution that recordings should never be a substitute for actual visits from parents. #3dultrasoundvancouver #3dultrasoundnewwestminster #3dultrasoundwhiterock #3dultrasoundcoquitlam #3dultrasoundmapleridge #3dultrasoundburnaby
