As your groomer, I am truly sorry for all the confusion regarding pet grooming. Until a couple days ago I was under the impression that we would get the green light to open somewhere mid February. I decided to use my time wisely and signed up for online courses, I do pet bereavement work which sadly was a busy time this past December, I have a daughter who is currently having post secondary interviews that I get to listen to quietly, and I have home projects that need to b...e finished. I planned all this with the knowledge that we were not able to operate our salons legally until mid February. Now we have municipalities deeming that grooming is an essential service. This may seem great for pet owners but that means we would have to work without any protection for us. Insurance is not valid when we are legally unable to be open during the provincial shutdown. There is also the moral aspect of who I wish to be at the end of all this. I really want this to be over, everyday I am in a deeper hole financially and I am the one person responsible for providing everything that this family needs, so trust me, if I could work I would love to. I haven’t been well over these last couple days due to this political garbage and lack of care to our province and people so I will be severely limiting my time online so that I can wrap up my current commitments and prepare for our reopening. To my wonderful clients and those browsing, today it was announced that our provincial shut down will be another 28 days minimum bringing us up to the 2nd week of February. We have a good team of groomers trying to get the government to understand the importance of pet grooming and the safety protocols that we groomers can follow in order to work safely but until we get the green light, Rebecca’s Pet Grooming at Weston Minster will not open and operate illegally as we wish ...to be part of the solution and not the problem. I have also decided to no longer take work related calls as 80% of these calls upset me and also tell me that I am misinformed and that I am able to groom as I am an essential business. This is not true. Believe me, I would LOVE to groom your pet and have an income. I currently have a wait list that I will be calling once we get our reopening date. Since Tuesday May 19th I have worked well over 100 hours... just grooming dogs! It has been a tsunami of work but I can say I am proud over the fact that my clients are getting done in the best timely service I can provide! There could be some I may have missed through the craziness so please if I have, CALL me now!
