The fascia is the super connector of muscle, joint and nerve communication. When restricted, or solidified, it can also be the cause of dysfunction within muscles, joints and nerves When we provide you with a treatment for Headaches caused by muscular tension, we will likely also assess your total body alignment. As we assess and feel into the 3 dimensional web of your fascial restrictions, we locate areas in need of further treatment.... The great thing about being an MFR therapist is that all my assessment and treatment tools are with me. All the time. This treatment was provided in Porto de Galinhas, Brasil ... on the beach with the sound of the waves creating an extra serene experience <3 "Just a month before I went to Brasil, I suffered my worst injury, with broken ribs, a punctured lung and some internal bleeding. No need to get into details about how or who, but it followed the too-familiar pattern of injuries to older students. In the photo from Day 7 with Mestre Toni, I can see the place on the left side above my 1-pack where the ribs were still healing. It ruined my entire trip as far as active capoeira. It was only on the last few days, after an amazing healing session with Magdalena iuna Regdos that the pain finally subsided." Steve Bagnell.

Do you suffer from Sciatica Pain? Sciatica refers to the pain that radiates from sciatic nerve. It happens due to the compression of this nerve and can be caus...ed by different reasons. Two of the major causes of sciatica pain are lumbar radiculopathy and Piriformis syndrome. Lumbar radiculopathy is the compression of one or more spinal lumbar nerve roots most commonly by a herniated disc but also by other problems such as stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scar tissue from previous spinal surgery ,diabetes, nerve root injuries. It's often caused by compression of the lower spinal nerve roots (L5 and S1). Compressions on L2, L3 and L4 can cause radicular pain in the front of the leg and shin. Piriformis syndrome is the condition in which the piriformis, a deep hip muscle compresses the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve runs from the lumbar spine to the buttocks to the back of the thigh, lower leg and the foot. It runs inferior and anterior to the piriformis, reason why it can be compressed by this muscle. Piriformis syndrome can be caused by tightness, spasm or adhesion of this muscle that irritates the nerve causing inflammation. Symptoms are usually of burning, tingling, numbness, shooting pain on posterior gluteal region. It usually increases when sitting for a long time. Radiculopathy pain usually worsens when raising the affected leg while the person is lying down in supine, increasing even more if ankle is put in dorsiflexion. The cause for sciatica pain needs to be known for appropriate treatment. Wrong treatment can worse even more the symptoms. MRI shows disc herniation and is recommended to be performed. Treatment for both depends on the severity. Medications includes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, analgesic, steroid, nerve pain medication. Massage to relax and release tense muscles, acupuncture, chiropractic treatment are other forms of treatment and even surgery as a last resort.
