May 14, 2020 Covid-19 Update Yesterday the Ontario Government announced a list of additional businesses that are permitted to reopen as of Tuesday, May 19, 2020. While this announcement indicates that Ontario is moving forward with its plan to reopen the province, opticians and optometrists are still subject to Directive #2 which limits health professionals to essential or emergency services until further notice. Non-essential opticianry services cannot be resumed until this... directive is amended or rescinded by the provincial authorities (College of Opticians of Ontario). Although we are all eager to begin the new normal and get our economy open, the safety of our patients, customers and community is first and foremost. Bearing that in mind, we will be abiding by the Directive # 2 from the Ontario Ministry of Health and the recommendation by the Chief Medical Officer of Ontario by being available to our patients & customers for Emergency & Essential services related to their Eye Health and Eyewear by appointment only. We look forward to getting back to servicing our clients in a full capacity as soon as it is safe to do so.
