One year Thank you Sophie, owning you has been such a joy. I love all your quirks, but most of all your heart, thank you for giving so many kids the confidence to ride. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity in life to share the gift of horses with the world. Thank you to everyone supporting me on this journey. Living this life is a dream come true. ... I am so looking forward to Sophie’s future and all the kids we will teach. She is truly my partner in this, and without her I wouldn’t be where I am today. I love you Princess Sophie You are truly remarkable

If you give your child a pony, they will want to ride. You’ll buy them the best pony you can find, followed by a helmet, boots and all the other things pony. ...You look for a local barn to ride at where you start to socialize with the equestrian communityAnd then life as you know it, will end. Before you know it, they want to show so you find a circuit ..There will be no more lazy weekends watching tv. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible. Every spare minute of your time will be spent hauling campers, horse trailers and horses and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the next show. Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a pony. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting dirty!!!! You will be there the day he or she takes the first few steps of canter, the first taste of a jump, first ribbon, first championship. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the pony, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who bounced around on their rocking horse into an exceptional young horse enthusiast on the hunt for the next pony finals or maybe even the Olympics! When you give your child a pony , you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hope and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a pony. Because you gave your child a pony, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have a equestrian family because you gave your child a pony. Then one day, many years from todaythey will be in their room and a certain trophy will catch their eye. And they will pick it up and realize instantly that when you gave your child a pony, you also gave them a childhood that they would never forget, at this point, you realize that everything you gave up along the way and sacrificed was totally worth it.. All because you gave your child a pony Copied from a friend. Powerful. See more

Sometimes it takes some extra tools in the tool belt to help my students to progress and and have light bulb moments in the saddle. The Equiformance Posture Slings by @performance.refinery used separately or together to help the rider to create a solid foundation in their heels, shoulders and hips, during all gaits. I love using this product myself and I love using this product when I teach. Just a few passes while wearing them really gives your body awareness that is carrie...d forward the entire lesson. It’s all about giving your body the effective proprioception to effectively achieve certain moves in the saddle. It’s astonishing how quickly a new skill can be taught using tools that are all around us, effectively taking kids leaps and bounds in a short amount of time. I don’t know about you but I think that’s a gorgeous forelock I wanted to@take the time today to teach all my supporters something, so why not learn something at the same time. I get asked ALL THE TIME, why we trim a Saddlebreds forelock and not leave them to grow like many other breeds. ... Well.... Back in the depths of history, Saddlebreds were shown with their forelocks and the first part of their manes plaited (and left down, not rolled like we do with our riding horses and hunters). The purpose of this was simply to keep their hair from interfering with the double bridle. This subsequently developed into the bridle path being trimmed to make it easier to get the bridle on and off. As shows developed there was a natural competition between horse owners, who soon found ways to adorn their peacocks of the show ring and mane and forelock braiding were introduced. Any colour is acceptable and traditionally reds and maroons dominate in the American show ring. Fun Fact:In Australia they have a registry system where barns register their barn colours and these are the colours their Saddlebreds show under presumably other barns are not allowed to use their competitors’ colours I hope everyone learned something new :) #saddlebred #saddleseat #americansaddlebred

Let your soul run free. Being able to take my horses into the mountains is such a huge blessing. Showing and Competing gives me joy, but being in nature with your horse is magic. I can’t wait to share this gift with my students. Big things are coming my friends. #saddlebred

I’m always so proud of my students when they are able to take on challenges head on and come out the other side with huge smiles on their faces. It is our job as instructors to foster an atmosphere of learning, commitment, and dedication, but beyond that we must foster love, and appreciation for the breed and for the animal. #americansaddlebred #saddlebred
