UPDATE: APRIL 21st, 2020: Due to the current pandemic, Windhorse Acupuncture will remain closed until further notice for in-person sessions. Although the physical clinic is closed, I am still checking my email, and will reply to your message within a few business days. Until it's possible for us to meet again in person, I am offering tele-health sessions for self-acupressure. If you're interested in learning more about how to work with acupuncture points and channels to supp...ort your health during this time, please be in touch via email or phone to book a tele-health session. For now, all tele-health sessions are offered on a sliding scale to accommodate varied financial situations during this pandemic. A 1-hr session is $30-90; a 1/2-hr session is $20-50. Many insurance companies are covering tele-health--please check with yours to find out about your specific coverage. When I am once again able to open my clinic for in-person sessions, I will be in touch to let you know the details of the re-opening. What a joy it will be to work with you in person again! Until we meet next, here is a beautiful unfolding poem for these times. Wishing you and your loved ones health and steadiness during this time of flux. https://onbeing.org//an-unfolding-poem-for-the-moment-wer/

CLINIC CLOSUREEFFECTIVE THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2020 In light of BC’s declaration of a State of Emergency, the CTCMA, my regulatory body, has issued a statement strongly recommending that all registrants close our practices in order to observe suggested social distancing measures that reduce the spread of COVID-19. Although we’re in the Yukon, where the situation on the ground currently looks different than it does in BC, I will close my practice for two weeks in order to minimi...ze the risk of infection spreading to people here in the territory. Effective Thursday, March 19th, Windhorse Acupuncture will be closed for two weeks. I will continue to assess the situation as it unfolds and will be in touch on March 31st regarding a timeline for re-opening the clinic. This has been a very hard decision. Moving alongside each of you on your respective journeys, and supporting you in the ways I can, is a central joy in my life. Sharing the wisdom of this medicine with you is a delight and an honour. I will be holding each of you with care from afar as we collectively move through this transformational time. And I’ll be here for you on the other side. I am available via phone and skype for acupressure lessons, dietary support, and other teachings and assessments. Please be in touch to learn more. Virtual sessions will be offered at a reduced rate. If you have an appointment scheduled between March 19th and March 31st, please go online and reschedule it for a date after March 31st. If you’d prefer that I reschedule for you, I am happy to do sobe in touch via phone or email to let me know that this is your preference. Because poetry can be an extraordinary companion in helping us comprehend in the bodies of our beings what can be otherwise incomprehensible, I’m sharing with you a favourite poem of mine. To listen to it read aloud, visit: https://onbeing.org/progr/a-poem-for-all-that-life-brings/ In solidarity, and with much care, Fabienne Praise the Rain Joy Harjo Praise the rain, the seagull dive The curl of plant, the raven talk Praise the hurt, the house slack The stand of trees, the dignity Praise the dark, the moon cradle The sky fall, the bear sleep Praise the mist, the warrior name The earth eclipse, the fired leap Praise the backwards, upward sky The baby cry, the spirit food Praise canoe, the fish rush The hole for frog, the upside-down Praise the day, the cloud cup The mind flat, forget it all Praise crazy. Praise sad. Praise the path on which we’re led. Praise the roads on earth and water. Praise the eater and the eaten. Praise beginnings; praise the end. Praise the song and praise the singer. Praise the rain; it brings more rain. Praise the rain; it brings more rain.

COVID-19 Practice Update: I am writing to share a few updates and reminders as we navigate the uncertainty of these times. My hope is that the information here will provide you with clarity and reassurance. Firstly, please know I will happily continue with sessions as planned, as long as you aren’t experiencing a fever, cough, or acute breathing difficulties, and haven't traveled outside of Canada within the past 14 days. If you've recently traveled internationally, be in to...uch to reschedule a session once the 14-day window has been cleared. Usually, I am happy to work with you if you have mild cold/flu symptomsthere is a whole branch of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine designed to support our systems to clear colds and flus from our bodies. But in light of the declaration of COVID-19 as a pandemic, it is important to take extra precautions to protect ourselves, one another, and especially those of our population most vulnerable to illness. For the time being, please be in touch to reschedule your appointment if you have a fever, cough, or are experiencing breathing difficulties. I will do the same. Following guidelines from the Public Health Agency of Canada, please stay home and phone 811 or your health provider if you have signs of a respiratory infection and within 14 days have travelled outside of Canada OR have lived with/provided direct care to a person with COVID-19 OR have lived with or provided direct care to a person with an acute respiratory illness who has recently travelled outside of Canada. Even though PHAC currently deems the COVID-19 risk within Canada and the Yukon as low, I will continue to take every measure to ensure that my clinic space is a clean, safe environment. You may notice me washing my hands 15 times a session instead of 10 (and going through bottles of hand cream each day!), or wiping down doorknobs, chairs, and countertops even more frequently than usual. Remember that frequent hand washing with warm water and soap for 20 seconds or more is the best thing you can do to curb the spread of illness. For more up-to-date information about COVID-19, and more tips about how to stay safe, please visit: https://yukon.ca//information-about-novel-coronavirus-yuko. As always, please be in touch if you have any questions. With much care, Fabienne Calvert Filteau, R.Ac.
