Peace I don’t know about you but I know that for me, anxiety can creep up without any warning. It brings everything to a screeching halt, forcing me to a crossroads. I can either choose to panic, despair and worry about everything or I can choose to put my worries in His hands and walk forward with Him. This doesn’t erase the problems or the worries or the external things causing the anxiety, but it changes the posture of my heart. One of the reasons I love Christmas so muc...h is because at the core of the holiday is the truth that Jesus, God’s only son, came down to be with us. God with Us. Emmanuel. When fear or anxiety overwhelms us, we are not alone. He is our peace. He is with us. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end..’ Can you imagine a time where there will be no end of peace? To be honest, it’s hard to imagine these days. We have this to look forward to as we anticipate the future with Jesus. But we also have the opportunity NOW to have peace regardless of our circumstances. Jesus promises us his presence, his Spirit and his peace. John 14:26-27 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. This gives me peace amongst even the most unknown and anxious times because I know that He is with me. He is with you too. I hope and pray that in this season you take some time to let his peace and his presence permeate your life above all the chaos of life. - Bria Magra, admin for Women's Ministries

COVID-19 UPDATE - Nov 8, 2020 As per our government’s orders November 7 for the Fraser Health region, we are suspending all in-person community groups and minis...try programs until Monday Nov 23 at noon. Sunday morning services will continue to operate as they have been for the past several weeks. Registration and COVID-19 protocol will continue to be the tools that help us physically gather on Sunday within the guidelines we’ve been given. Church At Home remains a helpful anchor point to the life of the Central Heights family as well. We recognize that every person experiences the pandemic differently and will have different responses on how best to operate in it. At the same time our ultimate goal as a church is to honour God in all things (Colossians 3:17, Psalm 29:1-2, Isaiah 26:8). At a different time and place, the Holy Spirit spoke through Paul. And these words are a helpful starting point for us to consider our posture towards Dr. Henry, our church family, and the Fraser Valley: Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good. They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone. Titus 3:1-2 Keep praying. Stay connected. Love Jesus and one another all 168 hours a week!

Last week at Mommy and me. Fall Recipes - Yummy! Any cooks in the crowd? Cooking is more than just the ingredients of a meal. How would you define it? ... At Mommy and me last week we talked about it also being: hospitality, creativity, service, nourishment, enjoyment, essential, and that we have a variety of tastes. There are lots of references to food in the bible - for example:banquets, miracles of Jesus multiplying five loaves and 2 fishes to feed the crowds, and some in the book of Proverbs. What do you think of these truths? Better a dry crust eaten in peace than a house filled with feastingand conflict. Proverbs 17:1 A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1 A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate. Proverbs 15:17 Ouch those are true. I want to be a wise woman, mom, Grandma sister, friend. I know you do to. Our children learn from us - God we are building homes, oh, help us fill them with LOVE and Peace. Cook up some fall recipes moms and enjoy time with your families. It’s great spending time with you at Mommy and me. -Pastor Rushia Stuffed spaghetti squash and baked apples.

Generosity is the quality of being kind, understanding, and not selfish: the quality of being generous especially: willingnesss to give money or other valuable things to others. English Language Learners Dictionary God’s word says: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinth...ians 9:6-8 We, as part of the Family of God at Central Heights Church, love to live by giving generously. It’s a choice we make out of hearts of love for Jesus - we aren’t forced, we are cheerful givers. Recently we shared the clothing and items from our Women’s Centre Closet with our community - what a joy that was. For those that gave items to share thank you - for those that received free items - thanks for coming by. Stay tuned for future Closet Giving times! -Pastor Rushia [email protected]

Joy The shepherds were living in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory shone all around them, and they were terrified. But, the angel said to the them, ‘Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.’ Luke 2:8-11 I am visual person and I can just picture this scene. Shepherds doing... what they always do in the routine of caring for sheep, getting them settled down for the night, and then standing guard protecting them from predators. Reminds me of us as women/moms, caring for our little ones all day, tucking them into bed at night, and praying for God to watch over them as they sleep. I am sure then the Shepherds have some me time unwinding from the day, enjoying the desert sky, bonfire blazing, maybe hot cocoa and a s'more and contemplating life. Well, that’s what I would do if I were a shepherd. When the visitor appears in all its brilliance and proclaims the good news of great joy. Joy is biproduct of knowing God. It’s a deep truth that is more than happiness it’s a choice to live with joy. God is the giver of joy. Joy to the world the Lord has come! Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare him room and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing. Joy to the world, the Lord has come. The Lord came as a baby, in a humble birth story, but he grew up. His life was an example of love, he healed people, taught, modeled faith, showed us who God was, saw the needs of the sick and hurting and brought joy. This joy is for all mankind. Do you know this joy? These angels pictured below were gifts to my daughters one Christmas. Look at the positions of their hands, and heads. One proclaiming and worshipping and the other with hands open wide in a posture to receive. Choose joy everyday by lifting your eyes, heart, and hands in adoration and gratitude and receive the Heavenly Father's love with open hands by saying yes, I need a Saviour Christ the Lord. Then be sure to share this joy with us - because we care about you! Pastor Rushia

COVID 19 UPDATE - November 19, 2020 In response to the announcements made by our government today, Central Heights Church will be suspending all in-person servi...ces and ministries until further notice. Although this is an unfortunate change, nothing has ever changed about our mission or our God. We see the exhaustion, stress, and anxiety you are experiencing. We see the same thing in the lives of those who don’t call Central Heights home. The pandemic is difficult. The spectrum of opinion and response is tiring. The strain of discouragement and loneliness is debilitating. And Jesus loves you. You really really matter to him. And you matter to us. Take up the encouragement and the challenge to prioritize what the Holy Spirit says to us: Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:15-18)
