Microsoft said Monday it had used a court order to take control of computers that were installing ransomware and other malicious software on local government networks and threatening to disrupt the November election. The maker of the Windows operating system said it seized a series of internet protocol addresses hosted by U.S. companies that had been directing activity on computers infected with Trickbot, one of the most common pieces of malware in the world. https://globalnews.ca//7/microsoft-ransomware-us-election/

Soft Bounces are temporary issues such as the recipient's inbox is too full, or there is a connection timeout. ... Hard Bounces are permanent delivery errors caused by an invalid email address (e.g. a mistyped email, a non-existent destination server, etc.). These types of bounces negatively impact your sender reputation.

Here are some tips on how to avoid spam traps: Don't allow inactive or unengaged email addresses to linger on your mailing list. A shorter list of real subscribers is better than a longer list that hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Don't buy email lists from anyone. You may want to expand your mailing list quickly, but many for-sale addresses aren’t legitimate and often belong to honeypots or spammers themselves. Instead, grow your list organically. Split your list into two... - send your first batch to the active contacts. The second batch is your sunset batch and eventually you can filter out anyone that hasn’t engaged with your emails in a reasonable amount of time. Don't use a "do-not-reply" sender or email address, this is no longer a good thing. Clean your list of all bounces immediately after each sending. Make sure you have an unsubscribe option in your email footer. See more

Spam traps are fraud management tools that monitor email communications to identify spammers and senders with incorrect contact management practices.
