I would really like to drum in this awesome igloo again sometime... I've wanted to drum with my community in this igloo since the very first time I saw it a few years ago...everytime I would see it over the years I would think the same thing..."I'd sure like to do a drum circle in here" but would then say to myself "when the time is right it will just happen" and let it go. Well, now it is happening!!! (Thanks Mandy Pravda for writing the grant to get it!) I've long bee...n practicing the art of "Putting it out there and Letting it go" focusing on my work and the task at hand, taking the next best step as far as I can see it and allowing things to come to me rather than spending a lot of time and energy trying to make things happen. Instead I've been using that time and energy on learning more about drum circle facilitation, persona/spiritual growth, caring for my home and family, marketing, graphic design, small business ownership and other interests like how to live more simply and doing what makes me feel happy. Kellie Welk and I have know, appreciated and supported one another's work for many years. She helped me rebuild my framedrum when it broke about ten years ago and helped me build a new drum with the old hide for my mom. She is drumming with students all week during the day in the igloo and when the organizers said it was available in the evenings she contacted me. What a blessing!! Thank you so much Kellie for this little dream come true : ) I am really looking forward to the experience. Please add any info about your upcoming drum making workshops here in the comments too if you'd like. Kellie Welk and I will be leading drum circles together in the Igloo on Thursday and Friday night as well from 8:30-9:30. I'm flying solo on Saturday night ; ) Hope to see you there!

WIN A WINTER GETAWAY Do you ever wish the magic of Ness Creek could go on all year? We do too. And so does the Jack Millikin Centre. And that's why they hav...e spent the last 13 years fundraising, most recently starting construction on the already beloved Jack Millikin Centre at the Ness Creek Site. Once the JMC is complete, we will be able to host events, workshops, celebrations, retreats and more for 365 days of the year! The JMC has set a goal to raise $50,000 by March 31st. We need your help and this is the best time to give! And a group of anonymous donors have agreed to match donations up to $12,500! The JMC will be doing monthly giveaways to donors, follow their Facebook page Jack Millikin Centre for details. In December, a Cabin & Ski package weekend (donated by Ness Core - 2 night stay, and ski rental) is up for grabs! Donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. But, a donation of any amount will get you entered to win! If every person who "liked" Ness Creek were to donate $5, the JMC could reach their fundraising goal. We have been in lockdown for four months and yesterday were told we are ready to open up - no new cases for 2 days. it has been very stifling but also a good time for reflection and reevaluation. I saw a post on your Facebook page about a training we were hoping to do in Edmonton next month, but we had to cancel as there are no flights out of Australia. You cant leave here without special permission and once you are out, it is hard to get back in - crazy times.
