Let’s face it- practicing yoga at home is definitely not the same as coming to the studio, especially when it’s a toasty 105 in there. But that doesn’t mean it has to be horrible. Here are some tips to make the best out of your virtual practice. Anywhere your 2 x 6 mat fits will do and that’s the beauty of yoga; however the more space the better. Test out your space by lying on your back and spreading your arms and legs out to either side as far as you can to make sure you ...are not hitting anything. If you can have a dedicated space for your yoga practice that’s a bonus! Maybe a spare bedroom or a spot in the basement. Alternatively, make a basket of all of your yoga stuff- your mat, blocks, bolsters, straps, etc. and pull it out when you are ready to practice so everything is together ready to go. Place your screen or device in a spot where you can see it. I like to use my tripod at the top of my mat. Avoid straining your neck throughout your practice to see the screen. The instructor is just a guide- especially in a virtual setting so listen to verbal cues and trust/listen to your body if something doesn’t feel good. Set the vibe, whatever you are in the mood for. Play music, light candles, or maybe burn some incense. Practice alone if you can without distractions. Let others in your household know that you are about to practice so they can honour your time. Turn off the TV, put your phone on DND and lock out your pets if you can. They can be cute but they can also be a big distraction. Lastly, don’t be so hard on yourself. Show up as you are and do what you can. See more

Sunday Dec 13th 6-7:30pm guided by Emmanuel $25/hst Chakra is a Sanskrit word for wheel. There are a total of seven chakras. They run down the midline of the body, from the very base of the spine to the top of the head. Each chakra acts as a gate keeper for its respective area, as the energy travels through us. When they are working smoothly, our vitality and energy can flow easily to where it’s needed the most. There are several ways to charge the power of your chakras. Thr...ough visualizations and meditation, as well as breath work and postures to balance out each energy centre of the body. Each chakra has certain postures that help to open and nourish the chakras. In this 90 minute workshop we will have a brief overview of each chakra, and practice the postures and meditations to revitalize each one.

#childspose Sometimes, it’s not the times you decide to fight, but the times you decide to surrender, that make all the difference. Please stay tuned for more info on how the new restrictions will affect classes starting Monday. As per the new restrictions for group classes- we will be spacing out mat placement to 6 meters with a max capacity of 10 people. It is my top priority to keep our staff, members and clients safe. I feel that we are a low risk facility, and our staff has been doing an excellent job and keeping our space clean and sanitary. Thank you to all the members and clients for respecting the mask mandate and physical distancing when needed.
