The lovely and talented yoga studios of South Georgian Bay have joined in community to present YOGA FEST, benefiting Home Horizon and the Barbara Weider House! Get your ticket: https://www.wellnessliving.com/rs/event/sanctuari_tac_ltd If you like yoga, great company and supporting people in your very own community, then this is your day!... In these times where the landscape of daily life is changing rapidly we feel called to celebrate and support our community - no one is in this alone. SGB Fall Yoga Fest is about coming together as a collective of people who are interested in/love yoga and are dedicated to kindness as a way of life. We want to break down barriers that separate people and organisations. ALL are welcome now and always will be. Yoga can bring us together, it can bring us peace, relaxation, perspective, physical and mental wellness, pain relief and so much more. We will meet to share a 2hr mixed-style yoga practice - highlighting several yoga studios in the South Georgian Bay area. Our time, energy and all funds raised will be dedicated to The Barbara Weider House and Home Horizons. This is a community led initiative working to support at risk youths facing homelessness. Tickets for this event are available by donation. When you register you will be able to purchase your ticket for $0, $5, $10 or $25. Every single dollar will be donated. Cant wait to see you there! A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped make a wonderful day of music, sunshine, amazing food and beverages and a wonderful fundraiser for Home Horizon. It is community partners like Phil Walker and Collingwood Hyundai that make our lives in and around the Collingwood area a better place to live, work and play!! Home Horizon is helping youth rebuild their lives and then integrate back into society rather than continuing down a path of homelessness. We are... seeing great success and are proud of our youth who are taking steps every day to improve their outlook and their options for a brighter, better future through sticking to their education plans and participating in our workshops. Collectively we have the chance to drive change in our community and help more vulnerable youth transform their lives and move forward with their hopes, dreams and life opportunities. Have you heard about THE PICNIC PROJECT! Home Horizon in collaboration with Road Runner Foods will be running this project throughout the summer and all for a good cause. The services of Home Horizon target youth, either homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Southern Georgian Bay area where before COVID-19 there was a 21% youth unemployment rate which has only worsened. Without adequate revenue and with possible soaring unemployment, more vulnerable youth will require support that is primarily provided by Home Horizon. Enjoy a picnic and support the cause!

Home Horizon Barbara Weider House is pleased and grateful to announce that we received a grant from the Huronia Community Foundation in support of youth facing homelessness in our community as well as to assist with fundraising revenue lost as a result of Covid-19. Huronia Community Foundations mission is to help support the arts, culture, youth, seniors, scholarships, the environment and more. Despite it being a relatively invisible problem in our community, youth home...lessness does exist. In response to this need, Home Horizon, a local charitable organization with 13 years of history helping the homeless in our community, built the Barbara Weider House. The Barbara Weider House provides a safe home and a welcoming communal environment something many of these youth have never had. All the youth have access to counseling and social and life skills programs to help them successfully rebuild their lives and transition to independent living and adulthood as opposed to continuing down a path of homelessness that may lead to larger problems. When this young boy came to pick up his bowl, he explained that it would be his souvenir from a recent trip he went on with his family to Africa. The bowl has elephants and giraffe on it. When we asked where they went, we realized that this family did a very similar trip to ours in 1997 with our two young boys. Every bowl has a story and we are all making a big difference in lives of homeless youth in our community... one bowl at a time! You can still get yours! Contact [email protected]
