Warm enough to sit out on the deck a play a few tunes.
From todays issue of Toronto Moon. This is a special night for sure. I get called "Dave" in the article which is cool. I used have a friend in NYC who called m...e "Dave" all the time. His name was "Huntley"..... actually.... I would NOT make that up! https://www.torontomoon.ca/boom-ers-will-set-the-stage-for/
BanjoGoBoom! Is playing Relish Bar & Grill this Sunday. Debuting some new songs. My new tune is called "Those Who Wait" which imagines a conversation between former lovers. Good things dont always come to those who wait if you let your Big Chance get away.
John Glover and Janice Lewis will be singing a few tunes at this event with Bob Cohen, David Woodhead, and Doug Wilde making it soar!
I promised a while back to make a video of this song but had a pretty bad voice-killing cold for a few weeks... nasty. Seem to be coming around now. I know there are quite a few songs called "Montana Moon". The only way I could get it out of my head was to write another one. Hope you like this one. https://youtu.be/QjV6RI_loDA
Great responsive crowd at The Local Saturday afternoon. Next BanjoGoBoom! gig at the Free Times Caf, Friday, October 18th.
Sang a few songs at the 3ringcircus... kind of a musical variety show with a house band... at the Tranzac. And a great band too... Bob Cohen, David Woodhead, and Doug Wilde. Janice Lewis came for the first time and we sang three songs; Montana Moon, Forget About Loving Him, and Sentimental Shoes. This was my third time and I think I got the charts in better shape this time... easier for the band to read. The only problem is I dont usually write in a lot space for instrumentals... note to self: when you get a chance to play with great musicians, make sure they have a chance to air their chops! Looking forward to the next one in November and also a November 10th Tranzac show at more songs and poets which Im hoping Janice will also do with me.
Wrote this sweet little song back in the 1980s. This is a live version from BanjoGoBoom!s very first show at the St Matthews Clubhouse in November 2018. Janice Lewis is singing the melody. Kate Murphy and I are singing harmonies.
I think I played Fat Alberts in 1969!!!! Thanks for asking me back, Glen!
