A Covid-19 update and Miss Lexi and her ginormous hair pile for Transfurmation Thursday (because Tuesdays seem to fly by). Due to the new restrictions last week we will be going back to the way we did things in the spring when things were first shut down. So we will remain open as usual but the shop will be closed to customers. -Please leave your dogs on their leash attached to the hook at the bottom of the stairs and then please move 6ft away. Or leave them in their kennel.... -Etransfer is the preferred method of payment, but you can still use the machine if need be as it does stretch outside. -we encourage you to still wear a mask and sanitize your hands before and after visiting. -Please be mindful of bumping into other customers. Wait in your vehicle unless you know the coast is clear. You can text me when you arrive, and I promise I will try to pay attention to my phone. And probably the most important reminder of all...be kind and be respectful.

Hank’s got the grooming thing down UPDATE /reminders on Covid-19/appointments ect...kind of a long post! Sorry! With the government easing restrictions on so many things I still feel strongly about the need to be cautious. Because of that I encourage everyone to continue the same social distancing drop off/pick up process, hand sanitizing upon arrival and after you leave and to stay home if you’re not feeling well.... For those of you who usually stayed for nail trims or other things, then we are able to have ONE other person in the shop again however each of us are required to wear a mask. If you do not have one then we will provide you with one. This is not optional. And again, if possible, keep with the same process we’ve been doing to cut down on how many people are in and out. Appointment updates: Now booking into August and September. I might be away for a week in September so that will mean September will book up fast. Please book ahead. Same week appointments are rarely ever possible at the best of times! Your looking at a 3-4 week wait time still. I am still not taking new customers. If I have not seen you in over a year than you are considered a new customer. If you are an existing customer and have a new puppy, then don’t worry! You’re good as long as your pup isn’t going to grow up to be over 40lbs! Have the best weekend everyone!

Harley here with her please share your Starbucks face to give you an appointment update, and a few reminders. Long post...bare with me Currently booking into middle/end of October. From now until January will likely book up pretty quickly, so here’s your monthly reminder to book ahead. You can book as far in advance as you’d like. If you’re wanting your pup groomed before the holidays, do not wait to book. The week before Christmas will likely be booked solid by the end... of October. Also a reminder that sending a text message is the best way to reach me. My social media notifications are always turned off, and I don’t always notice I have messages. Same goes for voicemail and email. Another reminder that when booking appointments to please let me know ASAP that you want that appointment. I often am in contact with other customers at the same time, or have other people waiting. If I don’t hear back from you within the same day then for sure that appointment will be offered to someone else. I do not usually respond to business messages over the weekend, unless I feel it’s absolutely necessary. All messages will be returned Monday. I am still not taking any new customers with the exception of an existing customer that decides to get a second, third, or fourth (I don’t judge) puppy! with regards to Covid-19 PLEASE wear a mask if coming into the shop or within 6ft of me or anyone else. If you choose to just attach your dog to the hook and keep 6ft then you don’t need to mask up, but you must social distance. I am entering into one of the busiest times of the year, and unfortunately I tire out to easily, so I truly appreciate your patience while waiting for me to respond to your messages, as well as waiting for your pups to get groomed. I’ve got some days where I’m a little pokey, but I’m doing the best I can over here! (that’s a high five). I have amazing customers and I truly appreciate the appreciation you express. The heartfelt thank yous, tags on social media and occasional coffees really mean a lot, so thank YOU Hope you all have the best week!

Sassy’s first time for a bath and deshedding This little girl is pretty nervous but oh my word is she the sweetest! Love her to bits! Ever wonder what’s involved in a bath and deshed? It’s for breeds that have an undercoat (causing shedding), and breeds that wouldn’t get a haircut or shave down (such as smooth haired breeds). It includes a bath (with conditioner), blow dry (by hand not kennel dried), a brush out and then extra deshedding and tidying around feet/ears/bum. A nail trim is also included as well as a sanitary trim if necessary or the owner prefers it.

Saw this and thought I’d share. Nails that are not regularly trimmed would be the equivalent to us wearing shoes that are too small. It can cause severe injury and structural changes in your pups wrists and is especially painful for senior dogs who deal with arthritis. Nail trims are $10 for small dogs and up to $20 for large dogs.

Harley and I had the best week and a half off and the best time in the mountains. She got to try out her new #muttmover backpack by @timbuk2 at @emeraldlakelodge and it was (thankfully) a success!!! We are modelling our new @twelvepawsca matching mask and bandana. Of course I’d be all over that I was hoping to have it in time before we left, but I ordered one day too late so a sketchy backyard selfie with tacky Instagram editing will have to do! She also got a new purple m...ountain collar from twelve paws because why not? And! If all that wasn’t amazing enough, Harley’s beautiful photo album by J Shantz photography came in just before we left. I will share that in a different post. A couple spots are open for outdoor dog mini sessions this month. Instead of having a day for minis I am spreading them out. They are taking place during the mo...rning or evening with the pretty light. Normally I can do 2 regular sessions in the premium light but sometimes the way schedules work with families they have to book at an odd time. This leaves a window of time unused and not enough time for a full family session. So I'm offering these spots out for quick mini sessions for your doggos. Msg me for dates. It’s hard to believe it’s September already!!! Yet, here we are! As of tomorrow evening I am officially on holidays!!! I will be back September 14th to answer any messages I receive between now and then. I’m still trying to figure out how to set auto reply’s on my phone (if you have an IPhone and know how please share!) but somehow I don’t think I can on my phone so I’ve got to figure something out. Also an update on appointments and Covid-19: As of today My earliest appointment is after September 20th because I am officially booked for Banff and will be away for holidays from September 6th to 12th. IF your pups will be need a trim in September or October now is the time to book to avoid disappointment. I will be booked a good month in advance. Covid update: n...othing has really changed. We have reminders out about wearing a mask and what not. The mask is mostly required for cat customers, or if you plan to come into the shop. If we keep our social distancing process for pick up/drop off going then a mask is not required, but still never a bad idea. Hope you are all enjoy the nice heat wave. I for one will be silently complaining or basking in the a/c.

I often get asked if Harley and other smooth coated breeds shed. The answer is a solid yes. Milo is an excellent example of that! I am planning to go away from September 7th-14th so please be aware that once August is booked up the earliest appointment will not be until after the 16th of September! There will undoubtedly be a wait peri...od (likely 3-4 weeks again) and I am going to apologize in advance for it! That’s the price a pay for taking a holiday, and also the reason I hate taking a holiday. So if you know your pup is going to need a fall grooming (and lets face it...appointments the week before christmas will be booking up quickly to) now is the time to book to avoid disappointment!
