Pedal for Hope Quinte 23.11.2020

Day 8 What can we say about day 8? Beautiful weather, Awesome visits, amazing energy! We have another 27km behind us, and another outstanding $10,382 raised....simply blown away. We had more haircuts, more hair donated, and more ice cream consumed, and/or worn (looking at you, Cst Donaldson).... We also had more bicycle races, where we were FINALLY able to crown a Police Officer as 'winner'. Of course, we had to pit two officers against each other to do it though. @BLVLPolice Cst Cooke took on @OPP_ER Cst Quigley, and Cst Cooke was able to walk away with the crown. I believe Cst Quigley may have been complaining about faulty equipment...(wasn't the equipment). Bayside saw co-winners in the fund raising dept, as there was only $9 separating their efforts. Cole York brought in $609, while Hanna Kautzman stepped up with $618. Awesome job to both, and enjoy your iPods. Laryssa Davies added to St Mikes pot, with $575 raised, while over at St Joes, Alyvia Dutrisac brought in another $500....AND donated her ponytail. AMAZING efforts by all. Remember, only two days until our fifth birthday bash, at Canadian Tire in Belleville. I know you'll be there. Until then, we've got 6 more schools to visit, and hundreds more kids to hang out with. Queen Elizabeth PS, North Trenton PS, and Prince Charles PS....you better be ready, because tomorrow...we're bustin through your doors, and we're bringing Shaker with us. Until then, much love from your #P4H2016 team. #WeBelieve See more

Day 7 Day 7 was another great one for the Pedal for Hope team. The weather was exceptional, and of course, so we're the students. Deciding to "spread the wealth(ice cream)", the team headed North to Madoc and Marmora. In Madoc, we stopped in to see the Mavericks at @Madocschool. Jamal once again topped the fundraising ladder, with $400. In a show of that famous Madoc Character, he paid it forward. The iPod will be enjoyed by runner-up, Austin Keller. Awesome! Next, we trekk...ed on down the 7, to Marmora, where we first visited Sacred Heart. Loud, outta control party central! Loved it. Sacred Heart's very own Logan Spicer, not only donated that head of hair....also was the top fund raiser, bringing in $305. Way to go Logan. Our final stop, was a pedal up the hill, to that school of Small hands...Big Wonders, @Earl_Prentice. More ice cream, more hair cuts, more bicycle races. Does this ever gets old? NOPE! Especially with inspirational kids, like survivor Daniel Mowler. David topped the fund raising with a fantastic $618. Fantastic! Enjoy your iPod Daniel. All told, another 57km was put behind the team, and another $5242.30 was raised for paediatric cancer research. Two things were learned today..... Amazing kids are EVERYWHERE and, The Police can never seem to catch a break during these bicycle races. As always, #WeBelieve See more

Day 6 Day 6 began our second week of rubber on the road, ice cream on faces, and shaker shaking whatever shakes... It was a nice "ease into" another full week, with just 2 schools on the schedule, and a nice light 32km to travel. Between our two funtastic stops... @TyendinagaPS Thundercats, and @S_J_A_M Colts, another $7520.00 was raised for paediatric cancer research. AMAZING. We would be remiss, if we didn't mention our top fundraisers today. ... Sir John A's own Luke Manlow brought in $400 all on his own, and that terrific Thundercat from Tyendinaga PS, Lilly Butler-VanDyk raised an astounding $1652. Not only did she do that amazing feat but, she decided once again, to donate her ponytails. Every single one of you kids are heart warming with your compassion, and just plain inspiring. #WeBelieve Much love and humble thanks, Your #P4H2016 team Ps.
