Prairie Dragons Paddling Club 06.01.2021

April 26, 2020 Attention: Members & Board Prairie Dragons Paddling Club... Prairie Dragons Paddling Club has assessed the rapidly evolving situation relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. The spread of Covid-19 and its impact on our community is an ongoing concern. Prairie Dragons wants to show leadership by complying with public health directives and setting an example for all individuals and other organizations. At this time Prairie Dragons will be postponing any on the boat activities until July 1st. This date may change as new information becomes available and public health requirements change. Premier Scott Moe recently unveiled ‘Re-Opening Saskatchewan’ for a staged relaxation of restrictions and this is how it affects our club: Phase one begins on May 4th with the allowance of low-risk outdoor activities in groups of 10 or less with heavy emphasis on social distancing. This has been emphasized as boat launches, fishing and so on. Unfortunately, Prairie Dragons cannot maintain appropriate social distancing during dragon boat without severely limiting participants. So, we will continue to stay off the water and start with dryland training beginning mid-May. Dates and further information to follow for each respective team. Phase four proposes re-opening of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities will begin but has no announced implementation date. When phase four is implemented, Prairie Dragons will assess what measures may need to be in place to start practicing on the water. Again, we will be providing clear communication as we transition through the phases. Currently, we encourage our members to join the club as usual through TeamLinkt. Below is the link to register: https://app.teamlinkt.com/register/go/prairiedragons/905 Or you can go to www.prairiedragons.ca and click Registration on the menu bar. We would like to start building the crews and continue to recruit new paddlers for this upcoming season, no matter how long or short it may be.
