The recent government announcement in regards to the provincial lock down being extended an additional two weeks has once again forced us to remain closed and will not be able to make any decision in regards to opening until the shut down has ended. We thank everyone for their continued support and encourage everyone to stay home and stay safe.

Due to the current Covid-19 lockdown, any decision in regards to opening will be reviewed once the restrictions have been lifted. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday Season!

After extensive consideration, Searchmont Resort has made the decision to not begin our regular snowmaking process this season due to the significant cost and so many variables surrounding the Coronavirus. If we receive enough natural snow to open, we will review the condition of the hill at that time; please keep in mind that our terrain is part of the Canadian Shield and requires significant snowfall for proper coverage for safety reasons. Our historical data indicates tha...t this would likely not occur until into January but will update everyone as the season progresses. Any plans in regards to potentially opening will be based on the Covid-19 situation at that time and what restrictions are currently in place. Please note however that our accommodation rentals will not be available this season due to renovations and season passes are not being sold at this time. We thank you for your continued support and would like everyone to know that we hope to be able to support the local community by providing a fun outdoor activity this winter, the outcome of which now depends on the pandemic situation and what Mother Nature decides to provide us with this season think snow! We hope you're as excited as we are to see the first tower go up for our new lift! Our new triple chair lift will be replacing the old Double chair lift.

Thanks to our friends over at Wilderness Helicopters and Leitner Poma Canada for helping to put up some of our new lift towers last week! We look forward to sharing more updates and information regarding our new lifts, runs, and much more in the works here at Searchmont Resort. Stay tuned!

Searchmont Resort would like to thank everyone for their continued interest in the resort and our plans for the upcoming season however with the current Covid situation ever changing, we are finding it very difficult to make a definitive plan and appreciate everyone’s patience as we wait to see how the situation evolves. SEASON PASS SALES 2020-2021 Season passes and reservation sales will be delayed this season due to the Coronavirus.
